| About Me: | KeralaVarma Jayakumar known as Jayen Varma from India holds the World Record in Bass Guitar as Fastest Bass Guitarist. This was declared in 2008 by Registry of Official World Records(Record Holders Republic)USA&UK. He is a freelance Bass Player and is into RagaZZ music doing solo demonstration performances, clinics, workshops and concerts with various Artistes and Bands. His studies in south Indian classical percussion instrument Mridangam facilitated him to develop a new genre funk bass style. The non-traditional slap bass style developed by him is called “Indian Slap Bass”, since Bass Guitar is played like Indian percussion instruments Kanjira, Tabla and Mridangam. He underwent his Mridangam studies under Prof: Parassala Ravi, who was the Principal of one of the Government run Music Colleges in Kerala, India.
