| About Me: | Abu Oche Stephen (born September 17, 1992), better known by his stage name Layce BTwist, is an African hip hop recording artist from the Mararaba neighborhood of karu LGA Nasarawa State Nigeria which is said to be the boundry between Nasarawa state and Abuja Fct or otherwise related as a town in the Fct according to the Nigerian government. Nigeria, West Africa. In 2011, he began to gain major recognition following the release of his first ever mixtape ''ANSWER'' from senima beats, an online music producer.
Layce BTwist started showing interest in music at a young age, and in his first year of high school at Government College Nasarawa, Nasarawa state, formed the hip-hop duo Instrumentality with a friend in 2005 known as YOUNG RIDERS which in it has Him and Mr Lazz, then later teamed up with some other friends to form a crew of six which later ended seven men with Sonorouz coming as the last artist to join the group of friends called MLCCLP in 2012 as he was introduced to the Band by Layce BTwist after the both young talented artist met a year back at TREASURE MUSIC STUDIO(TMS) owned and maintained by the populer Nigerian pidgin street rapper TREASURE JAY back in 2011. He mentioned in an interview that the Famous Nigerian J.Town rapper ICE PRINCE ZAMANI's debut album E.L.I (everbody love Ice prince) was the first Nigerian hip-hop and afro-Beat album that he ever purchased and listened to as a loved and most credicted on his personal chartboard. Ever since then he respected ice prince zamani as a rapper and not just as a rapper alone but a cool-cat and motivator as the Nigerian Rapper Ice prince zamani is known for helping Up-and-Coming artist to lamlight in Nigeria and beyond. The both artist recently followed each other on twitter. God Bless Zamani and Make him Bigger than Big he tweeted early 2014. At Abuja International academy where he continued his High school after droping out of Government secondary school mararaba where he spent two years after joining them from Government college nasarawa due to some reasons of being involved in some act of breaking school rules and hanging with outsiders gambling as he never stayed a day in class as much hanging out with some final year student who are always involved in criminal act, he was then withdrew out of government college by his father in 2005. In Abuja International Academy where some of his teachers ridiculed his aspirations to become a musician. Following a threat of expolsion and suspension in early 2010, during his senior year "for fighting a teacher and other school rules breaking related activities", Layce BTwist recorded his first full-length project, a song titled UNSTOPPABLE ft LIL_VYK. In febuary 2012 as he was trying to put down some naija styles and lyrics as in the pidgin ways which he said was difficult for him as at that time compare to now , he released a song titled ''ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME ft Sonorouz(a production of Tdyce beatz and Ezone mix)" which was released latly and publicly announced. After the song's released latly and together with some other features he was included as guest artist. Layce was highlighted as one of the "10 New Abuja Rappers to Watch Out For." In april 2014, Layce BTwist appeared on another mixtape of Shalone-p's track ''ONLY GOD I KNOW'' and on the track "HEAVEN OR HELL". where he did perfectly well and ever since the both mixtape has been toping round abuja and beyond and Shalone-P would then ask Layce BTwist to join his 2014/2015 all time concert and touring round nigeria and beyond, as much as a guest artist in his forth coming album. In febuary 2013, Layce BTwist appeared in a first ever music video appearance shot by Naija Ninja which he was featured on the Song titled ''ONE LOVE'' along side SLOW PEE, SHALONE P, OMOMEJI MEEK AND OBIE EYEZ in the early days of his career. Its an online video for music lovers worldwide, promoting peace, in which Layce BTwist talks about re-unity in Nigeria and beyond due to the troubles facing the country and the world in general. |
